We Deliver Premium Quality Sod
Maritime Sod Ltd. delivers sod for your landscaping needs throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Our nursery Kentucky Bluegrass Sod is grown locally.

We only grow and sell premium quality sod that can be used for multiple purposes including golf tees, sports fields and residential lawns. We use the best available seed to provide the best available sod. Our turf is the highest available quality in the Maritimes.

When we deliver the sod we can place individual pallets where you want them! This means you don’t have to move your sod around your property when installing your lawn. This saves time, effort and money.

Maritime Sod Ltd has hundreds of acres in Bluegrass Sod production. The land is excellent for growing turf as it is flat and stone free.

Premium Quality Sod
The blending of improved bluegrass varieties assures our customers of a product that will perform well under a variety of growing conditions. Our sod is ideal for lawns, playing fields, road banks, golf tees, and many other applications. The sod is two years old when harvested and has been carefully nurtured for that time. Weed control, proper mowing, fertilizing, and pest control are among the many activities used in producing the highest quality sod.

History
RJ ArseneauMaritime Sod Ltd was incorporated in 1970 as an associate company of Maritime Gardeners Limited. Robert J. Arseneau founded Maritime Gardeners Limited in 1950 after about 35 years experience in gardening and lawn care. Within a few years the company became one of the Maritime’s most prominent landscape contractors.

The unavailability of a good lawn sod for the company’s landscaping operation led Mr. Arseneau to the production of a quality sod through his own efforts.

With a modest beginning of 40 acres in 1966 – hundreds of acres are now devoted to the production of quality bluegrass sod making this one of Atlantic Canada’s largest nursery farming operations. Mr. Arseneau developed land in Amherst, N.S., and Lower Millstream, N.B. for the production of sod.
